2017, we here!
I think this is the first year where I didn’t consciously sit down and think of a list of resolutions to abide by for the New Year. You know, the superficial ones, like hitting the gym everyday and eating clean. I never stick to them anyway (because I love food way too much). This is, however, the first year where I want to expand my life and my experiences, and start living. I want to make a change. It’s time to break out of the same old routine. Therefore, I’m calling this a “2017 To Do List”. Here are some major things I want to get done this year.
Graduate
This is something that I know I’ll accomplish. It’s my final semester of Undergrad, and I did not come to play! I’m so excited to finally be reaching the end of this chapter of my life. I think I’m finally ready to take on the real world, and I plan on diving in head-first. Oh… and the celebration once I move that tassel over… yeah, it’s gonna be a big one.
Travel
Speaking of celebrations, this is how I plan to do it up! Ever since I took a trip with my best friend last year to Miami, I’ve been itching to book a flight and head somewhere, anywhere. I’ll have more time on my hands once school is finished, and this is one of the ways I want to use it. I feel like your 20’s are the best years to just get up and go, if you can. There’s nothing tying me down yet, so I want to take advantage of this freedom for as long as I have it.
Friendships
Maintain, improve, and evolve. I love all the friends I was blessed with, and I’m so happy I have a place in all of their lives. I only want our relationships to grow and become more intimate. You can never have too many people around that care about your well-being and success, so make sure you keep the ones that do close.
More Deposits, Less Withdrawals
I love to shop. It’s a problem, I’m working on it. I’m sure we can all relate to mismanaging money, or not saving effectively, or spending recklessly… or maybe that’s just me. Either way, I’m going to commit to a plan to try to build up my savings account. This may mean cutting down on eating out and shopping trips, but I’m sure I’ll live. I’m ready for my bank account to glo-up. You never know when you’ll need extra cash for a rainy day or an emergency, and I’m stepping into adulthood so I guess I should start acting like it.
Self-Care
So I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit tired of this term by the end of 2016. Every time I heard it I would say “okay we get it, love your self, blah blah blah…”, but self care shouldn’t be taken so lightly. I can really make a difference in how you operate on a day to day basis. Self-care can be anything from making sure you get at least seven hours of sleep at night, to taking yourself out for a mani/pedi. It doesn’t matter, as long as you’re consciously aware of your personal well being and working to make yourself happy, you’re doing self care right. If you’re used to giving to others, give a little more to yourself this year. You should be your number one priority.
So here’s to more life & blessings in 2017. I’m giving it my all , putting in the work, and making it a good one. I hope the same is true for all of you guys!
LOVE LOVE LOVE !!!!!! Keep up the great work

truly love this . it is so true how people make new goals for the new year, but never stick to them. i think it is important to set goals that you know deep down you will accomplish or you are continuing from the year before

Yes!! I always felt like the best way to achieve a goal is to plan it out and keep it in the back of your mind until you’ve reached it. Thank you so much for reading! 🙂
